The long-awaited sequel will hit theaters next September.
After much anticipation, Tim Burton has officially announced that filming for Beetlejuice 2 has wrapped up, with the movie set to release in September of next year. The announcement comes a few years after the initial plans for the sequel were announced, and after a few delays due to strikes and other setbacks.
The news was shared by Burton on Instagram, where he also posted a picture of himself sitting on one of the movie's sets. Fans of the original movie will recognize the set, which likely means that the sequel will take place in a similar setting.
While there isn't much information available about the plot, we do know that the sequel will introduce new characters, including a wife for Beetlejuice, played by Monica Bellucci. Jenna Ortega will play the role of Lydia Deetz's daughter, and Willem Dafoe will star as a former B-movie action hero turned detective in the afterlife. It's unclear how these characters will fit into the story, but their presence has piqued the interest of many fans.
In addition to the above names, the cast of Beetlejuice 2 will also include Catherine O'Hara and Justin Theroux, both of whom are well-known actors. This star-studded cast has fans of the original movie excited to see what the sequel will bring.
While the release date is still a ways off, fans can rest assured that the movie is completed and on its way to theaters. As more information becomes available, we'll be sure to keep you informed. Stay tuned!
