Exciting news for horror game enthusiasts! DreadXP and developer DarkStone Digital have officially announced that The Mortuary Assistant: Definitive Edition will be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on August 2nd. This announcement coincides with the 2-year anniversary of the original PC release. Additionally, the Definitive Edition will be available as a free update for the Steam and Nintendo Switch versions.

The Mortuary Assistant: Definitive Edition promises to deliver a host of new features, including new Haunt Events, an endless embalming-only mode, new bodies, additional lore, and a special Valentine’s Day seasonal event in February. Players can also expect multiple bug fixes, stability improvements, and enhanced performance.

For those who haven't yet experienced the chilling world of The Mortuary Assistant, you play as Rebecca Owens, a newly graduated apprentice at River Fields Mortuary. However, this job is far from ordinary. One night, you are called in to handle some embalmings, but upon arrival, you receive a call from the Mortician, Raymond, and quickly realize that this night will be unlike any other. Demonic forces are at play, and there's no escape from the horrors that await.

Fans are also eagerly awaiting more news on the film adaptation announced a few years ago, which is set to be directed by Jeremiah Kipp (Sins, Slapface).
