"Sweetpea" – A Deviously Twisted Coming-of-Rage Story Premieres This October on STARZ!

Prepare yourselves for a chilling new series that will leave you on the edge of your seat! Described as a “deviously twisted coming-of-rage story,” the six-part STARZ series "Sweetpea" is set to haunt your screens this October. The official teaser trailer has just dropped, and it promises a dark and thrilling ride.

Starring Ella Purnell ("Yellowjackets," "Fallout," "Sweetbitter") as Rhiannon, "Sweetpea" follows the transformation of a quiet wallflower into a vengeful force of nature with a newfound, intoxicating taste for murder.

🔪 **Series Synopsis:**

Rhiannon Lewis is practically invisible – people pass her by without a second glance. She’s overlooked for promotions at work, the guy she likes won’t commit, and her father is gravely ill. But when her life spirals out of control, Rhiannon snaps. The once meek wallflower is replaced by a young woman capable of anything. As she embraces her dark side, Rhiannon’s life takes a thrilling turn, but can she keep her deadly secret hidden?

The ensemble cast features Nicôle Lecky ("Mood," "Sense8") as Julia, Jon Pointing ("Big Boys," "Smothered") as Craig, Calam Lynch ("Bridgerton") as AJ, Leah Harvey ("Foundation") as Marina, Jeremy Swift ("Ted Lasso") as Norman, and Dustin Demri-Burns ("Slow Horses") as Jeff.

Ella Purnell not only stars but also serves as an executive producer for the series. In a statement, Purnell shared her excitement: “I truly cannot wait for the world to meet Sweetpea! I’ve loved exploring this incredibly complex character, as well as working alongside our dynamic cast and powerhouses Ella Jones, Kristie Swain, and Patrick Walters. This has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career so far. At its core, the series is about a woman finally finding her voice, told through a uniquely dark and comedic lens. I hope audiences have as much fun going on Rhiannon Lewis’ wild, coming-of-rage journey as we did bringing it to life.”

"Sweetpea" was acquired directly from Sky Studios and will debut in October 2024 as a STARZ original in the U.S. and Canada. The series is produced by See-Saw Films and fanboy in association with Sky Studios. Adapted from C.J. Skuse’s cult novel, the series is brought to life by Executive Producer Kirstie Swain ("Pure"), with writing contributions from Krissie Ducker ("Killing Eve"), Laura Jayne Tunbridge, and Selina Lim ("Sex Education," "Hanna").

Directed by the award-winning Ella Jones ("The Baby," "Back To Life"), who also serves as Executive Producer, "Sweetpea" promises to be a darkly comedic and thrilling exploration of a woman’s descent into madness.

Stay tuned for more updates and prepare for a spine-chilling October with "Sweetpea"!
