Exciting news for "Stranger Things" fans! Filming is now halfway complete on the highly anticipated fifth and final season of the hit Netflix series. This morning, Netflix released a brand new featurette video, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the making of "Stranger Things 5" and our first official glimpse of the final return to Hawkins, Indiana.
In this exclusive preview, Netflix invites us to witness the magic behind the scenes as the cast and crew hit the halfway mark of filming. The featurette also introduces new cast members Nell Fisher (Evil Dead Rise), Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux, who join the beloved ensemble. Watch the video below to get a sneak peek!
Returning for the final season are fan favorites David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, and Maya Hawke. They will be joined by new faces, including the iconic Linda Hamilton from the "Terminator" series.
The Season 4 finale left us on the edge of our seats, setting the stage for a climactic final season. The action will return entirely to Hawkins, with the rift between Hawkins and the Upside Down now fully opened by the monstrous Vecna. As for the premiere date, fans can likely expect "Stranger Things 5" to debut in 2025.
But fear not, just because the main series is concluding doesn't mean the end of the "Stranger Things" universe. The Duffer Brothers have announced that additional projects are already in the works. These include "Stranger Things: The First Shadow," a live stage production set to premiere in London’s West End, and an untitled animated spinoff series.
The Duffer Brothers tease, “There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes.” The end of the main series marks the beginning of new and thrilling chapters in the "Stranger Things" saga
